# Card artwork: credits and licence

The 49 SVG files in this folder (the 48 card faces and the card back) are licensed under the
[Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International licence](https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0/)
(CC BY-SA 4.0). That licence covers these pictures only; the app's code is licensed separately.

They are adapted from the set
[SVG Hanafuda with traditional colors (black border)](https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/Category:SVG_Hanafuda_with_traditional_colors_(black_border)) on Wikimedia Commons, where every file is
published under CC BY-SA 4.0 by its authors:

- the 48 faces: すけじょ's traditional-colour version of Louie Mantia's hanafuda cards, credited on Commons to
  **Louie Mantia** and **すけじょ**; **Spenĉjo** uploaded the current revision of three of them (listed below);
- the card back: **Spenĉjo**.

**Changes made to every file.** Minified with [SVGO](https://github.com/svg/svgo) 4.1.0 (default preset,
multipass). `width` and `height` attributes equal to the `viewBox` (976 × 1600) were added, so that every
browser can draw the file into a canvas. A comment naming the original file, its authors, its page and the licence
was added at the top of each file. The drawings are not changed: rendered in Chrome before and after minifying and
compared pixel by pixel, the files differ only in a few anti-aliased edge pixels (one shading step). The files are renamed after the card they show (the card id in
`src/game/deck.ts`); `src/lib/cardArt.ts` maps each name to its original.

**Reusing these files.** Keep this list (or the notice inside each file), credit the authors, link the licence, say
what you changed, and share your own changes to the pictures under CC BY-SA 4.0.
